I use facebook to reach people, and the irony is many post these fluffy good intentions that do NO-THING at all to name the negative energy. It's like the addiction of Facebook is to let your ego feel like it's contributing, but sadly it is adding in the group unconscious. As a high school teacher of English, my heart is hanging on hope that the student will awaken, as the teacher is already present. I agree there is no standing on the fence. Where we place our attention is very important to our experience and to the collective awareness of the planet. I learned at a very young age not to put my attention on negative things like violence, horror movies and negative images of inflicting harm on other beings including animals. To your point once it is in your consciousness it is very difficult to remove, ignore or not be influenced by. Those of us that are supportive of and aligned with Ucadia have an obligation to express our awareness through our actions.
