This is the core of the dangerous, and possibly deceptive, fallacy. Governments are instituted by people whom, at least subconsciously, see that they can use the structure created ("our government") to their advantages. The patricians who lead the American Revolution had every intention of usurping the power of the Crown and replacing it with their own oligarchy. Stirring the hearts of the masses of their countrymen was, at least to some extent, a cynical exercise.

Frank, love and appreciate your work. However here I must quibble. While the Declaration will likely stir the heart of anyone with one - and two firing neurons - as exemplified for me by my response to your reading of in in the audio for Part III of this blog series, questioning it is, IMO, vital. An understanding of the concept of "government," combined with an understanding of the nature of the ego, might lead one to the conclusion that whenever the legitimacy of an authoritative governing structure for sentient beings is maintained, the inevitability of abuse, corruption and violence is dragged in on government's coattails. Where truth is adhered to with detachment and clarity, government becomes a dangerous and unnecessary impediment to freedom and sanity.
