De Dea Magisterium

iconBook VI - The Apocalypse

Chapter 1

Seventy one thousand years ago, we were awoken to our past.
As gods we had become forgetful,
Arrogance at such absolute power.
Time has passed as if but one warm spring evening.
A hundred thousand years in an instant.
Such is life even for immortals.
In our arrogance, we did forget the ancient evil ones
The grey gods who first formed us.
Like ants who scurry about the floor of a forest
They had watched us.
Witnessing our progress,
documenting our failures.
So it was they returned again in force
One hundred and nineteen thousand years since our emancipation,
To bear witness to their prodigal sons.
And to warn of impending doom.
