11 Sacrifice

1	An ant in search of food, did come across a caterpillar,
2	As it gathered stick and leaves for its cocoon.
3	The ant did mock the caterpillar:
4	Poor creature what life is this?
5	While I spend my time running where I please,
6	You are condemned to spend your life making your coffin.
7	A few days passed and the ant did pass now the chrysalis.
8	As he moved closer he saw it moved and he did mock it again:
9	Poor creature what life is this?
10	While I enjoy the sun and the rain,
11	You are condemned to spend an eternity neither dead nor alive.
12	And when the ant passed by for the third time,
13	He found nothing but the remains of the shell.
14	Yet before he could speak,
15	He was covered by the shadow of a beautiful creature flapping its wings.
16	The ant fear cried out in fear:
17	Oh wondrous and radiant beauty, do not harm me,
18	For I am but a lowly ant.
19	The butterfly then replied:
20	Poor creature what life is this?
21	Behold, to become what I now am,
22	I did sacrifice what you choose to be.
