Before the first ancestors of men could speak,
Before the first ancestors of men could sing,
Before the first ancestors of men could draw,
The Light People came to Earth.
They found the animals from which first ancestors were made.
In country far away, the Spirit People created the spirit of men:
The gift and knowledge of language;
The gift and wisdom of counting and naming;
The gift and wisdom of first law;
The gift and wisdom of song and story;
The gift of laughter and joy;
The gift of drawing and inspiration;
The gift of discernment and sacredness.
The gift of love and compassion.
Before the Star People made the first man from these animals.
The Light Beings hid these gifts of Spirit of men away from the Star People:
The Star People did not see the Spirit when they took these animals;
The Star People did not see the Spirit when they first made man.
When our first ancestors were treated as worse than slaves in the mines of the Star People,
Our first ancestors did start to sing.
When the Star People starved our first ancestors worse than animals,
Our first ancestors did start to draw and speak and laugh.
The more the Star People hurt them,
The more the first ancestors of all men did sing;
The more wicked and evil the Star People became,
The more all our first ancestors drew and laughed;
The more hateful and bloody the Star People were,
The more loving and compassionate our first ancestors became.
So then the Star People feared them.
They did not understand.
The Star People known as Greys do not believe.
They dishonor their own Spirit.
They hate Spirit.
They hate singing and story;
They hate drawing and inspiration;
They hate laughter and joy;
They hate sacred and love;
They hate law and ceremony.
And so our first ancestors sung and danced;
And so our first ancestors drew and painted;
And so our first ancestors laughed with joy;
And so our first ancestors respected sacred and law;
Every day they remembered and gave thanks for the gift of Spirit.
Every day they remembered and honored the Light People.
