1 | This be the Law of Treaty: |
2 | Treaty be the sacred agreement between communities; |
3 | Treaty be the sacred oath between people; |
4 | Treaty be recognition and honor between communities. |
5 | Before a treaty be agreed, the elders of a community must form a proper council. |
6 | If the council be not the whole community, |
7 | Then it be a false council. |
8 | A proper council then appoint an emissary, |
9 | Granted then a proper seal of office and authority. |
10 | If an emissary promise more than the proper council permits, |
11 | Then it be not a proper treaty. |
12 | Each emissary of each community meet and agree on treaty. |
13 | A sacred object be commissioned for each community |
14 | To represent and reflect the treaty. |
15 | Each emissary returns with the sacred object as treaty. |
16 | A treaty not formed by law, be not a treaty. |
17 | A treaty not be law if it seeks Rights not permitted to be treated: |
18 | Rights of Country remain with Country; |
19 | Rights of Sanctuary remain with Sanctuary; |
20 | Rights of Community remain with Community; |
21 | Rights of Moiety remain with Skin; |
22 | Rights of Office remain with Office; |
23 | Any treaty of false claims of rights, be not a treaty. |
24 | A people who respect nothing of sacred treaty, |
25 | Have no culture or law. |
26 | A man or woman who deliberately damages sacred treaty, |
27 | Can never themselves occupy a sacred office; |
28 | Can never possess valid authority; |
29 | And can never be a custodian of sacred objects or country. |
30 | A people who permit such perversion of law, |
31 | Abandon any respect of law or justice. |
32 | Any law that dishonors such law cannot be law. |
