Article 48 - Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic Surgery, also known as “Plastic Surgery” is a range of medical surgical procedures primarily focused on reconstructive surgery and microsurgery but now extended to elective aesthetic surgical requests.
While the primary focus of cosmetic surgery was and remains the support of reconstructive surgery and microsurgery to repair injury and illness, elective aesthetic surgery now dominates.
While the primary focus of cosmetic surgery was and remains the support of reconstructive surgery and microsurgery to repair injury and illness, elective aesthetic surgery now dominates the range of specialty fields.
The primary three (3) arguments provided for justifying elective aesthetic surgery are Work/Profession-Required, Long standing defect, and Reduce signs of Ageing:
(i) Work / Profession - Required Argument is that cosmetic surgery is a prerequisite of continuing or expanding a career; and
(ii) Long standing defect Argument is that a body feature considered a defect continues to affect mental well being and confidence; and
(iii) Reduce signs of Ageing Argument
Any request for Cosmetic Surgery that requires changes to the body for career or business reasons that are beyond the norm and beyond what is found within natural bounds is mental and physical abuse, therefore making liable the place of business criminally and civilly liable, with such proposed surgery forbidden, reprobate and not permitted to be revived.
Any request for Cosmetic Surgery that requires changes to the body so that a person looks as close as possible to another, without the primary owner of their own face, body and look granting such permissions is identity theft with all those involved, including the surgical staff and the subject that undergoes the surgery culpable of serious crimes against these Canons.
