O you who believe! Let it be said: Al-Shams;
The Sun;
And the ninth name of Allah, the Infinite, the Unique, the All Knowing.
Upon the first rays of the morning, to the heavenly setting at evening;
In the great glow of fire through dust or flame;
Or its own hidden nature of fire and turmoil revealed upon an eclipse;
Nothing can grow or live without the Sun;
Nor can any creature withstand its power even for a full day without shade;
The Sun is thus the perfect carnation of Allah in a manner which even the simplest of mind may comprehend.
