| An old scholar one day was speaking to his grandson about the battle of self within all of us and said thus: |
| Verily, my son, the battle within all of us is between two wolves. |
| One is Malevolent. It is anger, envy, jealousy, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, pride and ego. |
| The other is Benevolent. It is joy, peace, love, humility, kindness, empathy, generosity, truth and compassion. |
| The grandson replied and said: Oh wise grandfather, tell me which wolf wins? |
| To which the old scholar replied thus: The one you feed. |
