Two Wolves

An old scholar one day was speaking to his grandson about the battle of self within all of us and said thus:
Verily, my son, the battle within all of us is between two wolves.
One is Malevolent. It is anger, envy, jealousy, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, pride and ego.
The other is Benevolent. It is joy, peace, love, humility, kindness, empathy, generosity, truth and compassion.
The grandson replied and said: Oh wise grandfather, tell me which wolf wins?
To which the old scholar replied thus: The one you feed.
