| Our second ancestors are the second ancestors of all men and women, |
| Our second ancestors are the second people of country, |
| Of the land called Australia. |
| The ones the Grey Star People made to replace the first ancestors. |
| When the Grey Star People said to themselves: |
| Let us get rid of these animals that sing and laugh; |
| Let us kill all the animals as slaves that draw and speak, |
| The Greys sought an animal without spirit, |
| That they may teach it to be obedient, |
| That these animals may do what they are told. |
| The Grey Star People at first did not know, |
| The Light Beings had even given spirit, |
| To the small animals of a different place, |
| That ate meat and were violent to one another. |
| When the Grey Star People did see this time the spirit, |
| They cursed the Light Beings and said to themselves, |
| Let us force the spirit from these small animals, |
| Let us weaken their strength that they shall not rebel |
| Let us give them reward as well as punishment, |
| That we might control them. |
| So our second ancestors were born. |
| The second ancestors of all men and women. |
| Even though our second ancestors ate meat, |
| They were fed on grains and plants weakened them; |
| That caused them to be more placid. |
| The Grey Star People let them live on the surface, |
| The Grey let them build stone circles as homes, |
| That they may become attached to property and possessions; |
| That they could be controlled by threatening to take away their home and land. |
| Yet the Greys did not let our second ancestors communicate in groups, |
| The stone circles and homes were far apart. |
| The Greys did not permit our second ancestors to have easy water or food; |
| So stone circles were built far away from streams, |
| Stone circles as homes were built on poor ground. |
| If our second ancestors spoke to one another, they were punished. |
| So our second ancestors became dependent on the Greys for survival; |
| So our second ancestors for a time forgot their spirit; |
| They worshipped the Greys as gods. |
| When the Grey Star People finished their mines, |
| They said to one another, let us not kill these new animals, |
| For without us they shall surely die, |
| Or kill each other. |
| But our second ancestors did not all die, or kill each other. |
| Some were found by our first ancestors and became the first families; |
| The families became the first tribes under First Law. |
| Some were found in later seasons by our third ancestors, |
| The son and daughter of the Serpent People, |
| The ones with horns and skin that glows. |
| This be the origin of Second Law. |
