Book 4 – The Star People

4   The Grey Star People and first Ancestors

1Our first ancestors are your first ancestors,
2Our first ancestors are the first of all men and women.
3The animals from which the first ancestors came,
4Were taken from a different place.
5This be the country and land which the Star People,
6Did create the first ancestors of all men and women.
7This be the land of the first settlements of the Grey Star People;
8This be the country injured by the first mines of the Grey Star People.
9After the Serpent Star People did rebel,
10The Grey did promise the Serpent People,
11To replace them with a new people of slaves,
12By multiplying the great animals they took from the different country.
13When the Grey Star People did take these great animals to this land,
14The Grey did not know the Light Beings had already come before;
15The Grey did not know these animals had the gift of Spirit;
16The Star People did not see the Spirit when they took these animals;
17The Star People did not see the Spirit when they first made man.
18These giant animals were gentle and kind;
19These animals lived from plants.
20The Grey Star People did change them to make them stronger;
21The Grey changed them to stand upright;
22Our first ancestors were then forced to live and work in the mines;
23No light or stars did they see;
24No plants or animals did they see.
25Deep in the earth they were forced to live;
26Our first ancestors were prisoners and slaves.
27The Greys forced them to live off meat;
28The Greys forced them to eat the flesh of their own family.
29Day and night the Greys forced our ancestors to work as slaves.
30They lived where they worked;
31They ate and slept where they worked;
32They died where they worked;
33Until one day our first ancestors did start to sing.
34The Greys were fearful,
35As they did not teach our ancestors knowledge.
36When the Grey Star People starved our first ancestors worse than animals,
37Our first ancestors did start to draw and speak and laugh.
38The more the Greys hurt them,
39The more the first ancestors of all men did sing;
40The more wicked and evil the Grey Star People became,
41The more all our first ancestors drew and laughed;
42The more hateful and bloody the Star People were,
43The more loving and compassionate our first ancestors became.
44So then the Star People feared them even more.
45The Greys do not believe.
46They dishonor their own Spirit.
47They hate Spirit;
48They hate singing and story;
49They hate drawing and inspiration;
50They hate laughter and joy;
51They hate sacred and love;
52They hate law and ceremony.
53And so our first ancestors sung and danced;
54And so our first ancestors drew and painted;
55And so our first ancestors laughed with joy;
56And so our first ancestors respected sacred and law.
57The Greys then said to themselves, let us be rid of these animals;
58Let us kill these animals as slaves that sing and dance and draw;
59Let us replace these animals with slaves with no spirit;
60So there be no laughter or singing;
61So there be no ceremony or drawing;
62So there be no love or sacred.
63But the Serpent Star People did hear of these plans,
64They took as many of our first ancestors as they could.
65They freed as many of our first ancestors from their prisons in the earth,
66That they see the sky for the first time;
67That they breath fresh air for the first time;
68That they feel the sun on their faces.
69They hid them deep in caves far away from the Greys and their mines.
70So when the Greys did think they had killed all of our ancestors,
71They did not succeed, because of the Serpent People.
72For many years our first Ancestors did hide during the day,
73Only coming out at night.
74Ever watchful for the craft of the Grey Star People.
75Every day and every season they did give thanks for freedom,
76They did give thanks for spirit;
77They did give thanks for First Law.
78Every day they did honor the Serpent People,
79As the Great Serpent Dreaming;
80As the Great Serpent in the night sky as protector.
81This be the story of our first ancestors;
82This be the story of the first ancestors of all men and women.
