This be the Law of the Great Circle of Language:
The Great Circle and Law of Language is the law of the Dreaming.
To know the true meaning of a word is to have real power,
So a man cannot be given such power until he has shown he use it well.
All that is flesh and bone, dies away,
But words like the wind never stop flowing.
The words are the knowledge of our ancestors;
The name of the animals;
The names of the spirits;
The names of the land;
The name of the kin and immediate ancestors;
The stories and reasons of the great seasons.
If a man or woman has no language, they have no knowledge.
A man who has no knowledge has no law.
A sound must be spoken, a story must be written properly.
When a man does not speak properly, or write properly,
He disrespects his skin, his family and his country.
The great circle of language envelopes all men and women of the tribe.
The great circle of law of language surrounds ceremony and covers the country.
This is because the law of language of dreaming is everywhere,
In the sounds of the animals;
In the air and the storm, the rain and the sun;
It is in the stars and the grasses and trees;
It is in the sound of men and women laughing and merriment;
The language of the dreaming is through us, within us, outside of us.
It is our thinking in our speaking and our actions.
Any law that dishonors such law cannot be law.
